Verve is chosen by the ICT secretary to set up a document management system to provide improved access to information within the e-government, ICT secretary’s office. The role of setting up ICT with DMS is to increase efficiency, improve speed of data retrieval and reduce loss of documents.
About E-government
E-government is simply the use of information and communications technology, such as the Internet, to improve the processes of government. While the growth of the ICT sector in Kenya has been significantly influenced by global trends, it can be evaluated in terms of number of fixed and mobile telephone lines; the teledensity; the number of computers and services; Internet Service Providers (ISPs), the number of Internet users; broadcasting stations; and market share of each one of them.
The overall Government objective for the sector is to optimise its contribution to the development of the Kenyan economy as a whole by ensuring the availability of efficient, reliable and affordable communication services throughout the country.
